MILESTONES

1988 - COMPANY REGISTRATION: Company is registered in December 1988

1988 - 1993 - Acts as creative consultant to multinational ad agencies Ted Bates, Lintas, J Walter Thompson, DY&R and PB&F.

1993 - FIRST DIRECT CLIENT; Wins first direct-client account in October 1993 - LUX Appliances, direct selling arm of Electrolux.


1994 - 1996 - FIRST INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS – Magicmakers becomes a creative consultant to clients in Rotterdam and HoChiMinh City, communicating through email and a dedicated client-agency server (believed to be the first in the industry).


1995 - Gains direct agency accreditation with Malaysian mainstream media including TV stations RTM and TV3; Time Highway Radio and national dailies NST Group, The Sun Publications, Nanyang Siang Pau and Sin Chew Jit Poh.


1996 - JOINS MALAYSIAN 4As: As a fully accredited ad agency with Malaysian print and electronic media owners, Magicmakers was granted entry as a member of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia.


1996 - 1998 - FIRST GLOBAL CAMPAIGN: produces worldwide campaigns for LUX Appliances for use in over 60 countries.


1998 - BECOMES AN ORDINARY MEMBER OF 4A's: Is elected into the Ordinary Members circle of the 4As with full voting rights.


2000 - FIRST INTERNATIONAL BRAND : is awarded the Apple Computers portfolio in Malaysia in 2000.


2001 - OWN OFFICE: Moves into its own 2,500 sq. ft office in Kelana Square, PJ, in 2001. Complete with broadband infrastructure, equipped with latest software and hardware in print and video editing suites.


2002 - WINS FIRST GOVERNMENT OPEN TENDER FOR PRODUCTION: Is awarded FAMA TV Production tender in 2002.


2003 - WINS FIRST GOVERNMENT OPEN TENDER FOR TV MEDIA CAMPAIGN: Is awarded the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s “Healthy For Life” TV media campaign in 2003


2004 - WINS FIRST GOVERNMENT OPEN TENDER FOR TV AND RADIO CAMPAIGNS: Is awarded the Ministry Of Health’s “Healthy For Life” TV and Radio campaign (production and media) in 2004.


2005 - WINS FIRST CREATIVE AWARD FOR WORK DONE ON A GOVERNMENT PROJECT : Wins an award of merit at the AIR Awards for Ministry of Health Malaysia’s 60 second radio commercial in 2005.

2006 - AWARDED SARAWAK CONVENTION BUREAU ACCOUNT FOR WORLDWIDE: Agency invested time to participate in brand strategy development in Sarawak leading to being appointed creative and media agency.

2007 - RETAINS SARAWAK CONVENTION BUREAU ACCOUNT FOR WORLDWIDE FOR 2007-2008: The Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) again invites Magicmakers to its annual strategic branstorm in July '07 and post-presentation of new creatives, confirms agency appointment for second year.

2008 - "RECHARGE IN A NEW WORLD", A 4-MINUTE M.I.C.E. COMMERCIAL FOR SARAWAK CONVENTION BUREAU WINS 3 INTERNATIONAL AWARDS IN TOURISM & TRAVEL i. PATA Gold Award ii. Gold Camera Statuette in Tourism & Travel Category at USA FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL, LOS ANGELES iii. DIAMOND AWARD (Best of All Categories) at Das Goldene Stadttor (the Golden City Gate Film Competition) at ITB BERLIN.
